The 2019 Johnny Lightning 50th Anniversary Edition – I received these two JL ’69 Impala Convertibles in the recent shipment from my friend Brad – has some fun packaging. The card is a little busy, but it features a nice vintage illustration on the front, along with some fun facts and the paint chip down in the left corner.
The cars themselves are what you would expect – nicely detailed and finished in beautiful colors. I especially love the wheel and tire combination on these two Impalas – although you have to look close to realize these are not your typical Goodyear white letters.
Each variation of the car even has its own custom license plate.

In a fun twist, the front of the package states that this Fathom Green (Version B) ’69 Impala “represents the fully restored version of the Projects in Progress from Street Freaks 2017, Release 3,” which you can see by clicking here.
“The license plate aptly reads JOBDONE.”
